In the wake of coronavirus pandemic, seven banks Tuesday handed over 1 lakh international standard PPE and one lakh masks to police.
The seven banks, who have come forward to provide the personal protection equipment (PPE), are Bank Asia Limited, Dhaka Bank Limited, Dutch Bangla Bank Limited, First Security Islami Bank Limited, IFIC Bank Limited, National Bank Limited and United Commercial Bank Limited, a press statement said.
Beximco PPE Division, a nwe division of the Beximco Group, has produced the international standard 1 lakh PPE and 1 lakh masks.
Seven banks took the initiatives to ensure safety of police personnel, who are working in field level from the beginning of the coronavirus outbreak in the country, the statement added.
Benayir Ahmed, IGP of police, expressed his gratitude to the banks for the support, it also said.
